elijah's song / humanity i love you

the teachers said i talked too much, i saw too much, i thought too much, i brought, danger in my speeches, my reach was, much-further than my arm left 'em charmed, but alarmed at its message, i dropped bombs with the blessings, the questions and the lessons for life, my best guesses, to face reality but keep calm despite stresses, i'm messing with the children's minds, i'm brain stretching, to ready them for dangerous times when rains catch em, i do this for the kids who lack the base amenities, who through chapped and hungry lips all learn to use obscenities, for want of opportunity the rampant inequality, of an economic system wreaking havoc on its children, enslaving our women while we bitching 'bout religion, getting played by politicians not intent upon delivering. yet still we keep on wishing, waiting on more loaves and fishes, what is all this wishful thinking while we should be building bridges, dare we overcome divisions whether race or creed or class? why be so afraid of mixing up this place let's leave the past, it's just simple integration of my nations and my peoples, nothing deep, assimilation of the domes amidst the steeples, sow i seeds to feed the fire, see the dire need to try, rather be a failed messiah, than the voice who never cried...
